"Vishu"

Vishu, a happiness where in to stay awake and arrange the vishu kanni for the next morning.

More over the thought of vishu kayineettam and how much money each will get, these were the things that inspired me to celebrate vishu at my childhood days.  I still cherish those days.

I would like to share couple of the pictures of vishu kanni at our home after my marriage.

How smart are those small men.....Thanks to Kinder Joy Surprise chocolates and my little daughter who loved it.... The chubby Santa Claus father are looking after them as the "BIG FATHER"; seems like the little men and women are busy with some important chit chats.... More to come....enjoy !!!

Aluva Sri Mahadeva Temple

Aluva is located on the banks of Periyar river, 21 Kms from Ernakulam.

The unique feature of Aluva Mahadeva Temple is that the Shivalinga is not enshrined in a Sreekovil. The Swayambhoo Shivalinga installed by Lord Parasurama and worshipped by Lord Sree Rama rises out of the sand banks of the Periyar river. This place is called the Aluva Manal Puram (land with sand).The most celebrated event is the annual Shivarathri festival, when thousands all over Kerala and other parts of India rush to the temple. This season is famous for post funeral rites of Hindu known as Shraddhham or Tarpanam, done in banks of the river.

My first visit to Aluva Mahadeva Temple was on November 2013, hope to go there many more times by god's grace .
